Jennifer Alfonso is a family law attorney born and raised in Miami, Florida. At a young age Jennifer witnessed firsthand how family dynamics are affected in a divorce. Jennifer was primarily raised by her father after her parents’ relationship was dissolved. She is passionate about advocating for fathers, but always seeks to ensure the unheard voice is also protected by keeping the best interests of the children at the forefront of all her clients and cases.
Jennifer received her undergraduate degree from Florida International University with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and a minor in Psychology. Thereafter, in 2013, Jennifer received her Juris Doctorate degree from Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. Jennifer is a member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar.
While obtaining her law degree, Jennifer devoted her studies and time to family law matters with a special emphasis on domestic violence and child advocacy. During law school, Jennifer was the President of the Law Students Against Violence Society and a contributor to the Rainmaker, the law school’s newspaper. She also represented clients in all facets of their cases as a Certified Legal Intern in the Family Law Clinic while still at law school.
After obtaining her law degree, Jennifer furthered her training by becoming a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and working post graduate with her Family Law Professor conducting Social Investigations/Parenting Plan Evaluations for the Fourth Judicial Circuit. She also continued her involvement with her Alma Mater serving as an advisor to the Family Law Society at Florida Coastal School of Law.
Jennifer loves giving back to her community. While in Jacksonville, Florida, Jennifer participated in fundraising activities for the Family Nurturing Center, a center that provides supervised time sharing to parents under court order. She also volunteered her time as an attorney at monthly workshops through Missing Link of Jacksonville, Inc., a non-profit organization that helps domestic violence victims legally sever their relationships with their abusers. Although Jennifer has returned home to Miami, Jennifer remains a current Board member for Missing Link of Jacksonville, Inc. and was its immediate past secretary.
