Not likely. While the alimony statute has been significantly changed in 2010 and 2011, the changes are not very significant, and in some cases, cause more confusion than before. For those that have both alimony and child support, alimony is a deduction off of your income before child support is calculated. Meaning, before you file to reduce or eliminate alimony, remember that this will likely serve to raise your child support.
